Is it really more fun in Davao?  Here’s a roundup of top ten things to do in this beautiful city.

10.  Eat Durian

This is one thing to scratch off your bucket list if haven’t tasted this fruit yet.  Known for its strong odor, the durian can be either heaven for your senses or something quite the opposite (it's for you to experience and decide!).  Taste it in all forms – fruit, candy and even ice-cream!  You haven’t been to Davao if you haven’t tasted this!

9.  Pearl Farm

Formerly a cultivation farm for luxurious south sea pearls, the pearl farm still remains a destination for luxury.  This beach resort is in Samal Island off the coast of Davao City.

8.  Japanese Tunnel

If you’re in for something short and historic, visit the Japanese tunnel which not only has a tunnel but a Japanese restaurant and some rooms to stay in.  Go back into World War II by experiencing the tour of this tunnel.

If you’re looking for a romantic date off the beaten road, take Davao’s Hilltop restaurant which is located in Ma-a.  Get a taste of Filipino food and exotic dishes to excite your adventurous tastebuds.

5. Philippine Eagle Center

The image of Davao is definitely the Philippine Eagle.  Visit the site that is working to preserve the endangered Philippine eagle.  Appreciate the majesty of a species near extinction up close.

4. Dahican Beach

If you want to go somewhere simple and away from the touristy places of Davao, catch a nice breeze and view at Dahican beach.  Very laid-back and peaceful.

Your Family, They Don't Believe In Work From Home?

By now I don’t need to say how powerful facebook already is in marketing a business.  Running at more than a billion users,  it is essential that you know how to  excel in it.

How do you market your business on facebook?  Create a Facebook Page!  With that nifty little software called Shortstack, it  can help you customize facebook pages,  with contests, videos, sweepstakes and a whole lot more.

Jim Belosic, the CEO of shortstack, tells us in an interview with StartupNation  how to take your Facebook Marketing beyond the basic responding to comments & asking questions, and making it ROCK!

  • Post pictures (and video!). We see our best engagement when we include some type of media in our posts. Our fans especially love humorous photos and memes. We also get a great response when we post tips and infographics. Follow the 70/20/10 Rule. Seventy percent of your Page’s content shared should be information that is valuable and relevant to your Facebook fans. Twenty percent of your posts should be shared content, i.e. content that comes from other people. The final 10 percent is Facebook posts that are promotional: sale announcements, new product alerts, events, etc.

  • If you ask for feedback -- and I believe that you definitely should -- IMPLEMENT it! Your fans will engage more if you show them that you are really listening.

  • Be Transparent. I get asked all the time about how ShortStack was created, the success we’ve had and how we’ve gotten to where we are today. By being transparent, you position yourself as an expert in your industry and build trust among consumers. When it comes time for someone to have the need for your product or service they are going to think of you first.

  • For example, a dentist might offer her patients a few do-it-yourself tips they can use to whiten their teeth. By sharing her expertise she won’t put herself out of work. She will make her patients and potential patients grateful. And when it comes time for them to pay for dental care, they will think of her first.

  • Ask your fans for permission to feature them in posts/articles. Customer spotlights or "client of the month" articles or blog posts are great because they add some "social proof" to your engagement.

Knowing how to be excellent in facebook will definitely increase your chances of getting higher paying clients as a Virtual Assistant.  Go ahead, learn it now and live a marvellous life!
